EcoCorps Project Portfolio

Oryana Community Co-op

The SEEDS EcoCorps learned small-conscruction and landscaping skills by improving the community compost bins at Oryana Community Co-op. Crew members additionally managed the bins throughout the season. Management included turning the compost and sorting non-compostable items.

Saginaw Children's Zoo

The SEEDS EcoCorps restored habitat around the trails by the Saginaw Children's Zoo. Crew members removed invasive buckthorn and replaced it with native plants. "At SEEDS, if you cut something, you replace it. It's about restoration." - Jacquan Thomas, Crew Member

Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market

The SEEDS EcoCorps has managed the Sara Hardy Downtown Farmers Market since 2011. SEEDS has a tradition of successful recruitment from the students of the TBAISD Career Technology Center's Agri-Science Program and youth who are specifically interested in careers in agriculture and farming industries.
