SEEDS Rapid City After School program serves an average of 35 students each day free of charge. Students from kindergarten to fifth grade can sign up, and programming runs Mondays through Thursdays from 2:50-5:30 p.m.
They have a school/community garden on school property, and a forest in their "backyard," including access to the Rapid River. Rapid City kids LOVE to be active, whether it's enjoying gaga ball or 4 square, playing on the playground, walking through the woods, or participating in hula hooping, karate, or hip hop dance classes.
When it's time to slow down, they love painting, board games, and hands-on STEM projects. Rapid City Elementary school day staff work closely with SEEDS staff to provide insight and connections to the school day. There is a strong sense of community at this site, as is evident when families come together for Family Fun Nights (game nights, movie nights, etc...)
