Youth Conservation Corps Program Manager

The SEEDS Youth Conservation Corps, started in 2008, exists to engage individuals, ages 16-24, in a “green collar” workforce to become empowered participants in a local and global community. We focus our work with vulnerable populations who will thrive in an experiential learning environment, providing consistent mentorship as well as on-the-job training. The jobs we seek are labor intensive and also rewarding because they are service oriented, improve ecosystem services and improve public access to important resources. This work marries a love of youth development with a love of ecosystems and healthy habitats.


Since its inception, SEEDS Youth Corps has earned national recognition from The Corps Network in DC and is formally recognized by the US Forest Service. We have provided over $1million in youth wages and $200,000 in scholarships, creating over 400 seasonal jobs. Members have restored hundreds of acres of habitat, miles of stream banks, built dozens of miles of trail, planted thousands of trees, renovated historic structures, and much more.


We seek a manager for our growing Youth Conservation Corps program. This is a new position for the organization:

  3. You have client hunting and account management skills, including being a great listener.

  4. You see the big picture and are also able to strategically delegate simple tasks.

  5. You are not afraid of complexity and are good at fitting a variety of puzzle pieces together.

  6. You love people and when the going gets tough, you tend to pick up the phone.

  7. You set people up for success by managing expectations and providing consistent oversight.

  8. When a team-mate grasps and succeeds with a task or duty, you gladly hand that duty off.

  9. You want to know that the team is succeeding and you do this by monitoring key indicators like budget-to-actuals, safety records, project schedules, and member morale.

  10. You want to believe in your work and be part of a bigger mission.
