Forest Area Middle School

Welcome to Forest Area!

Thanks to a successful grant to the Michigan Department of Education and its 21st Century Community Learning Centers, SEEDS is adding Forest Area Middle School back into our daily after school programming, where academic and cultural enrichment programs are available FREE to all of the students from 3-6 p.m.

SEEDS will provide free experiential learning opportunities four days a week for the entire school year and six weeks of summer camp. Programs are designed specifically to supplement the school day making learning hands-on and fun.

Examples of activities that SEEDS provides at its After School sites inlcude homework help, cooking, music, and a suite of Green Team service learning activities like recycling, lessons in nature, and STEAM (science, technology, engineering & math) activities about energy and the environment.

The SEEDS staff will provide students with a safe and supportive environment that encourages interaction and engagement to foster healthy social, emotional, and academic growth, as well as learning new life skills through creative, hands on exploration of our world.
